Devonport Naval Heritage Centre Devonport 200 Exhibition
The exhibition highlights the history of Devonport Dockyard, its people and its ships over the past 200 years.
Description
Exhibits include early plans of the dockyard, Devonport People, ship building during WW1, the effect of the 1941 bombing, the story of the Devonport built and manned cruiser HMS Gloucester which was sunk off Crete in 1941 and whose 80 odd survivors only returned home in 1945 after 4 years as PoWs, ship repairs in the 1970s and much more.
The exhibition opens on the 20th March, and the Devonport Naval Heritage Centre is open every Wednesday and every second Saturday of the month until the end of October.
